Eaton Asphalt Advertisement: 1966
After 100 years in business, you can find some pretty interesting stuff around the office. Check out this asphalt advertisement from 1966 celebrating Eaton Asphalt’s 50 years in business. In 1966, a gallon of gas would cost you $0.32, a gallon of milk $0.99 and a new home $23,300. More importantly, in our opinion, the Department of Transportation was created. Lyndon B. Johnson signed the act into law in October of 1966 with he purpose of creating a level of federal oversight in the development of transportation policy and the creation of public transportation infrastructure.
